This year, the contest briefing includes the following conditions for seating and table designs: - For seating, the main material shall be wood and upholstery. Beech, ash, oak, or walnut should be the wood species utilized, in either solid or plywood version. The Kvadrat textile collections should be used for upholstered pieces. The use of other materials such as metal, thermopolymer, and aluminum will also be accepted. - For tables, the principal material shall be “Solid Textile Board by Really” – a high-density material manufactured from Kvadrat textiles at the end of their life-cycle. The use of other materials such as wood, plywood, laminate, glass, metal, thermopolymer, and natural stones will be accepted.

The International Design Awards every year recognizes the best seat and table designs and will include two prizes of 4,000 and 2,000 euros and four honorable mentions. After closing 2018 with a participation record, reaching more than 250 projects submitted and more than 2,000 contestants from around the world, the contest opens again, in which contestants of all ages can participate individually or in groups. In numbers, the past 18 editions have involved more than 30,000 contestants from 124 different countries, 105 jurors - architects, journalists, chefs, designers, artists and international professionals linked to creation, art and architecture and more than 200 schools and universities and design centers around the world.
Next Thursday, December 12th, at the Escola d’Art I Superior de Disseny de Valencia, 7:00 pm, the Spanish Company celebrate the 19th Andreu World International Design awards ceremony. A very special event, in which our jurors will be present: Sheila Loewe, Anders Byriel, Alexis Georgacopoulos, Marcus Fairs and Belén Moneo.
